はじめに

Bota-Log は、株ごとの記録と、親から子へつながる系譜を残すための台帳です。食虫植物・ビカクシダ・塊根植物など15のジャンルに合わせて、記録の項目が用意されています。

まずは手元の株を1株登録してみましょう。コレクションの右上の ＋ から「個体を登録」を選び、ジャンルと名前を入れれば保存できます。写真や細かい情報は、あとからいつでも足せます。

個体とロットの違い

「個体」は、いま手元にある1株です。番号（標本番号）が付き、写真・記録・水やりの目安を持ちます。

「ロット」は、胞子をまいた容器・種をまいた鉢・分けた子株などのまとまりです。親の株（または購入した胞子・種）をつなぎ、育ちの段階を記録します。

ロットから育った株を「選抜」すると、その株が個体になり、親 → ロット → 子 の系譜が自動でつながります。何世代たどっても、系統図で祖先と子孫を見られます。

ロットを作る入口は3つあります。株・苗を手に入れたときは「個体を登録」、胞子や種を買って培養から始めるときは「培養・播種ロットを登録」、手持ちの株から殖やすときは「自家増殖のロットを登録」です。

記録を付ける

株のカードの ✎、またはダッシュボードの「記録を追加」から記録を付けます。水やり・施肥・植え替えなど、ジャンルに合った作業を選び、必要な項目だけ入れて保存します。

いくつかの株にまとめて記録したいときは、コレクションの「選択」で株を選び「まとめて記録」を押します。グループのフォルダからも、中の株にまとめて記録できます。

記録には写真・温度・湿度・現在の状態（休眠・成長期など）も残せます。状態を付けると、株の基本情報の「現在の状態」も自動で変わります。

水やりの目安

水やりを3回ほど記録すると、その株の水やりの間隔を割り出し、カードに「今日水やり」「○日超過」と出します。

1年以上記録を続けると、去年の同じ季節の間隔も使って目安を出します。冬に水を控える塊根やサボテンも、季節に合った目安になります。

間隔は株の詳細の「水やりの目安」から、自分で日数を決めることもできます。知らせたくない株はオフにできます。休眠中・枯死・譲渡の株と、記録の「現在の状態」が休眠・断水中・落葉の株には出しません。

設定の「お世話の通知」をオンにすると、目安を迎えた株を朝に1通のまとめで知らせます。

カレンダーと予定

カレンダーの ＋ から、植え替えや施肥などの予定を立てられます。一度きり・毎日・○日ごと・毎週（曜日を複数）・毎月（日付を複数）・毎年から選べ、その時刻に通知が届きます。

予定の「未完了」を押すと完了にできます。株を指定した予定は、そのまま記録も付けられます。予定の日より前に済ませたときは、済ませた日の完了として残ります。

ベーシックでは予定を3件まで立てられます。複数の株をまとめた予定や、1日に何回かの予定はプレミアムで使えます。

グループ

コレクションの見せ方を「グループ」にすると、株をフォルダに分けて見られます。「新しいグループ」で作り、フォルダを開いて「株を入れる・外す」で株を選びます。

1株が入れるのは1つのグループだけです。どこにも入っていない株は「未分類」にまとまります。グループを消しても株は消えません。

系統図と系統書

株の詳細の「系統」から系統図を開くと、祖先と子孫をたどれます。ほかの株を押すと、その株を中心に組み替わります。2本の指でつまむと拡大・縮小できます。

「系統書（PDF）」から、その株の系統書を作れます。発行者と譲渡先を入れて PDF にし、印刷や共有ができます。系統書は記録にもとづく書類で、法的な効力はありません。

株札・株を譲る

コレクションの「選択」で株を選び「株札を作る」から、QR つきの株札を印刷できます。QR を読むと、その株の詳細が開きます。

株を譲るときは、株の詳細の 🎁 から譲渡ファイルを作って渡します。受け取った人が Bota-Log で開くと、記録と系譜ごと自分のコレクションに入ります。

SNS 投稿と写真の編集

株の写真の「SNSに投稿」から、名前や記録を添えた投稿画像を作れます。正方形・縦・ストーリーズ・横の形と、装飾を選べます。

写真は投稿の前に、切り抜き・傾き・回転・明るさを整えられます。元の写真は変わりません。

バックアップと機種変更

設定の「データ」→「バックアップを作る」で、写真・予定・グループ・設定まで含めたファイル（.botabackup）を作れます。ファイルアプリや iCloud Drive に保存しておきましょう。

新しい端末では、設定の「バックアップから戻す」でファイルを選ぶか、ファイルアプリでバックアップを開きます。いまの記録はすべてバックアップの内容に置き換わります。

プレミアムでは iCloud 同期で、同じ Apple ID の iPhone・iPad・Mac の記録が自動で揃います。

ベーシックとプレミアム

ベーシック（無料）では、個体10株・ロット2件・予定3件・グループ2つまで登録できます。記録・写真・水やりの目安・系統図・系統書・株札・SNS 投稿・バックアップは、ベーシックでもすべて使えます。

プレミアムにすると、登録の数の上限がなくなり、iCloud 同期・ダッシュボードの分析・写真の細かい調整・SNS の装飾・作業テンプレートの追加などが使えます。くわしくは設定の「プラン」から見られます。

標本番号はどう決まりますか？

ジャンルごとの頭文字（例：食虫植物は CP）に、通し番号を付けます。登録の画面で自分で変えることもできます。

記録を消してしまいました。

消した記録は元に戻せません。バックアップを作っていれば、そのときの状態に戻せます。

通知が届きません。

iPhone の「設定 → 通知 → Bota-Log」で通知が許可されているか確かめてください。

英語で使えますか？

設定の「言語 / Language」で日本語と英語を切り替えられます。

プレミアムを購入したのに、ベーシックのままです／機種変更しました

設定の「プラン」から有料プランの画面を開き、「購入を復元」を押してください。購入したときと同じ Apple アカウントでサインインしていれば、追加の料金なしでプレミアムに戻ります。

サブスクリプションを解約したい

iPhone の「設定」→ 一番上の自分の名前 →「サブスクリプション」から解約できます。買い切りには解約・更新はありません。解約しても記録は消えません（ベーシックの上限を超えた分は、見ることはできますが新しく足せなくなります）。

系統書の QR を読んだら「書き換えられています」と出ました

その系統書は、発行されたあとに中身が書き換えられています。発行した人に確かめてください。発行者 ID が、発行者の公開している番号と同じかどうかも確かめてください。

Getting started

Bota-Log is a ledger for keeping records of each plant and the lineage that links parents to offspring. Record fields are tailored to 15 genres such as carnivorous plants, staghorn ferns and caudiciforms.

Start by adding one plant you have. Tap + at the top right of the Collection, choose “Add a plant”, then enter the genre and a name to save. You can add photos and details anytime.

Plants and lots

A “plant” is a single plant you have now. It has a number, photos, records and a watering guide.

A “lot” is a batch such as a container of sown spores, a pot of seeds or divided pups. Link the parent plants (or the spores or seeds you bought) and record its growth stages.

When you “select” a plant grown from a lot, it becomes a plant and the lineage parent → lot → offspring is linked automatically. You can trace ancestors and descendants across generations in the lineage chart.

There are three ways in: “Add a plant” when you get a plant or seedling, “Add a sowing lot” when you start from purchased spores or seeds, and “Add a propagation lot” when you propagate from your own plants.

Adding records

Add a record from the ✎ on a plant card or from “Add record” on the Dashboard. Choose tasks that fit the genre, such as watering, feeding or repotting, fill in only what you need, and save.

To record for several plants at once, tap “Select” in the Collection, choose plants and tap “Bulk record”. You can also record for all plants in a group folder.

Records can include photos, temperature, humidity and the current state (dormant, growing and so on). Setting a state also updates the plant’s current state.

Watering guide

After about three watering records, the app estimates the plant’s interval and shows “Water today” or “N days overdue” on the card.

After a year of records, the guide also uses intervals from the same season last year, so caudiciforms and cacti that need less water in winter get a seasonal guide.

You can also set the interval yourself under “Watering guide” in the plant’s details, or turn it off. Dormant, dead and transferred plants are skipped, as are plants whose current state is dormant, dry rest or leaf drop.

Turn on “Care notifications” in Settings to get one summary each morning of plants that are due.

Calendar and plans

Tap + in the Calendar to plan repotting, feeding and more. Choose once, daily, every N days, weekly (several weekdays), monthly (several dates) or yearly, and get a notification at that time.

Tap “Not done” to mark a plan as done. For plans with a plant, you can add a record at the same time. If you finish early, it is kept as done on the day you finished.

Basic allows up to 3 plans. Plans for several plants or several times a day come with Premium.

Groups

Switch the Collection view to “Groups” to see plants in folders. Create one with “New group”, open it and choose plants with “Add or remove plants”.

Each plant can be in one group. Plants not in any group appear under “Ungrouped”. Deleting a group never deletes its plants.

Lineage charts and certificates

Open the lineage chart from “Lineage” in a plant’s details to trace ancestors and descendants. Tap another plant to recenter. Pinch with two fingers to zoom.

Use “Certificate (PDF)” to make a certificate of lineage for the plant. Add the issuer and recipient, then print or share the PDF. Certificates are based on your records and have no legal force.

Labels and transfers

Select plants in the Collection and tap “Make labels” to print labels with QR codes. Scanning a QR opens that plant’s details.

To give a plant away, create a transfer file from 🎁 in the plant’s details. When the recipient opens it in Bota-Log, the plant joins their collection with its records and lineage.

Social posts and photo editing

Use “Post to social” on a plant photo to make a post image with the name and records. Choose square, portrait, story or landscape, and a frame.

Before posting, you can crop, straighten, rotate and adjust brightness. The original photo stays unchanged.

Backup and new devices

In Settings → Data → “Make a backup”, create a file (.botabackup) that includes photos, plans, groups and settings. Save it to the Files app or iCloud Drive.

On a new device, choose the file with “Restore from backup” in Settings, or open the backup in the Files app. All current records are replaced with the backup.

With Premium, iCloud sync keeps records the same on your iPhone, iPad and Mac with the same Apple ID.

Basic and Premium

Basic (free) allows up to 10 plants, 2 lots, 3 plans and 2 groups. Records, photos, the watering guide, lineage charts, certificates, labels, social posts and backups are all included in Basic.

Premium removes the limits and adds iCloud sync, dashboard insights, advanced photo adjustments, social frames, custom task templates and more. See “Plan” in Settings for details.

How are plant numbers assigned?

Each genre has a prefix (CP for carnivorous plants, for example) followed by a running number. You can change it when adding a plant.

I deleted a record by mistake.

Deleted records can’t be recovered. If you made a backup, you can restore that state.

Notifications don’t arrive.

Check that notifications are allowed in iPhone Settings → Notifications → Bota-Log.

Can I use it in Japanese?

Switch between Japanese and English in Settings → Language.

I bought Premium but still see Basic / I switched to a new device

Open the plan screen from Settings → Plan and tap “Restore Purchases”. If you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with, Premium comes back at no extra cost.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Lifetime has no renewals. Cancelling never deletes your records (beyond Basic's limits you can still view them but not add new ones).

A certificate's QR says it has been altered

The certificate's contents were changed after it was issued. Check with the issuer, and make sure the issuer ID matches the one they publish.
